Have you ever been out with your friends, look up, and start laughing because all of you are on your phones? I know I have! This music video By Major Laser ft PARTYNEXTDOOR and Nikki Minaj makes a comment on how everybody is glued to a cell phone nowadays.
There is a deeper outlook in the video on the way our lives our going. Everything has become digital and is now only about our phones when we hang out! I’m not sure if this was the intent, but there is an awareness of the disconnect we have achieved as a culture.
Check out how no one in the video has eye contact. The line “I’m going to run up on ya” is really just FaceTime, Instagram direct message, or texting as opposed to good old fashioned face to face communication.
Outside of that message the overall vibe is extremely fresh and uplifting with the upbeat party theme. Major Lazer ft Nikki Minaj and PARTYNEXTDOOR is definitely a nice collaboration.
