So You Think You Can Dance season 11 finalist Rudy Abreu came out with a new class video earlier this week. Filmed by our very own Zev York, this video is from Rudy’s regular class at Edge Performing Arts Center and stars the best of the best contemporary dancers.
This video is your quintessential class video featuring dancers who showcase the choreography the most accurate to Rudy’s standards. These dancers are paired in duos, trios, and one small group by Rudy. They then dance their hearts out for the camera. His choreography shows off technique, control, musicality with a touch of fusion jazz funk moments.
Rudy Abreu, 22, is originally from Miami, FL. Rudy received his early dance training under the direction of Manny and Lory Castro at DanceTown of Miami. Equipped with a strong technique and ballroom foundation along with the passion to perform, Rudy went on to do various reality TV shows such as, Paula Abdul’s Live to Dance, America’s Got Talent, and at the age of 18, So You Think You Can Dance. While on So You Think the freshly 18 Rudy won the hearts and impressed the judges leading him straight to the top 8 and touring around the country. Shortly after, he moved to LA and started teaching at several studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle and now has his own class at Edge Performing Arts Center.
Rudy is a consistently working dancer and choreographer who is now dancing for JLO’s All I Have Vegas residency show and travels the world as faculty on Artists Simply Human Dance Convention.
