Millennium Dance Complex + JoJo Gomez + Tim Milgram= Epic-ness. It is never a disappointment when these 3 get together. This time the powerhouse takes on a 2014 Jhene Aiko song “The Worst”, showing her emotional contemporary side. Featuring some of her protégés and filmed by her man Donovan Okimura, Jojo never fails to pull nothing but the best from her dancers. Jojo is known for her firey passion on the dance floor no matter what style she brings that day. From contemporary feels to sassy jazz all the way to hard hitting old school hip hop, JoJo can do it all.
This video begins with Jojo demonstrating the combo alongside her assistants Markella Kyprios and Caitlyn Holzer, who are fantastic opposites. The trio compliment each other well. Next features solos by Madie Duncan and Erica Klein. And of course a duet with dancers who are no strangers to Jojo’s class. Jake Kodish and Haley Messick deliver the emotional story which brings this choreo to another level. This combo shows fantastic floorwork and Jojo’s signature hard hitting movements. Physicality and precision are definitely a necessity in her classes.
Jojo Gomez teaches regularly at Millennium Dance Complex and has trained under legends like Brian Friedman, Tricia Miranda, Kennis Marquis, Willdabeast Adams, Kevin Maher, Jeremy Copeland, and the Pulse On Tour Faculty. Since moving to LA at 17 from Maryland, Jojo has made her way from student to teacher in a short amount of time. Now teaching all over the world and recently joining her first convention “Artists Simply Human” this passionate 23 year old is on her way to legendary status.
