Creative director, choreographer, and producer Galen Hooks recently held a class at Millennium Dance Complex teaching her choreography to “Kiwi” by Harry Styles.
Filmed by none other than Tim Milgram, the video showcases Galen’s hard-hitting yet fun dance piece. The choreography was perfectly executed by Galen herself, Emma Hauser, and Johnnie Taylor in a group, and at the end of the video is a solo performed effortlessly by Sean Lew.
Other than teaching dance class both nationally and internationally, the 31-year-old LA Native has had much experience in the entertainment industry. Some of Galen’s work can be seen in many well-known productions such as So You Think You Can Dance, Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, Nike Campaigns, The Oscars, Glee Tours, and TED Talks. Galen has also worked with some of the top artists in the music industry such as Ne-yo, Janet Jackson, Miguel, Brittany Spears, The Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber. Amongst reaching incredible heights and dominating in the entertainment industry, Galen had also balanced her dance work with her school work graduating with a BA in Pre-Law at Pennsylvania State University.
Nowadays, Galen runs her own program called The Galen Hooks Method which consists of a series of intensives as well as teaching at dance conventions such as The Pulse, Monsters of Hip-Hop, and Nuvo.
